On 7 February, a new cyber security center was inaugurated, combining two separate infrastructures on a single site: a cyber range with a crisis simulator and a quantum cryptography laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new infrastructure is designed for cyber security training. Using realistic attack and response scenarios, users will be able to test the resilience of their systems and anticipate cyber threats.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Gilles Brassard* Quantum Cryptography Laboratory will provide a dedicated space for researchers, engineers, and experts to develop innovative solutions to secure digital communications by exploiting the concepts of quantum physics.<\/p>\n\n\n

Supported by the Walloon government and developed by Idelux, this center is a concrete response to the challenges posed by the new European directives (NIS2). It is accessible free of charge to economic, public, industrial, and academic actors involved in cybersecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Space Agency, based in Redu since 1968, is the third largest space agency in the world and brings together 22 Member States. Belgium, the 5th largest contributor to the ESA budget, is one of the 6 countries with an operational center on its territory. ESA’s presence in the region is a catalyst for several industrial developments. The partnership with Thales (quantum cryptography laboratory) and Nexova (cyber range and crisis simulator) contributes to the development of a dynamic ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
